"Fast Heart Mart" was a name given to a 17 year old boy named Martin. Martin was diagnosed with a heart defect after passing out in high school and knocking out his front teeth. The heart defect made his heart beat so fast it did not pump blood and Martin died a few times! Not to worry though, Martin now has a defibrillator implanted in his chest to shock his heart back into rhythm. Thereby, we arrive at the name Fast Heart Martin or "Fast Heart Mart" for short and sweet.
Since Y2K, Fast Heart Mart has recorded ten albums, and traveled all over the United States and New Zealand. He sings songs and plays guitar and banjo, mostly. He has played with acts as varied as Beck, Calexico, The Melvins, The Handsome Family, Bob Log III, Maria Muldaur, New Monsoon, Ed Begley Jr., Kasper Hauser Comedy Troupe and even 999 Eyes Human Oddities Freak Show. Chances are pretty good he'll be coming your way soon!
